well balanced micro-climate

WE WONT LEAVE YOU IN THE COLD IF YOU’RE TOO HOT

Your bed’s micro-climate is the deciding factor when it comes to feeling comfortable in bed and getting cosy, undisturbed sleep.  This micro-climate is determined by the ability of your duvet and mattress to absorb the moisture emitted by you during the night.  This moisture evaporates through the skin as gas and needs to be absorbed by your bedding as gas before it condenses back onto your skin as liquid, i.e. before you start to sweat.  Sweating causes the body to cool down.  And any drop in body temperature during sleep will cause you to wake up.

We have built climate-regulation properties into our mattresses by using natural materials such as pure lambs wool from certified organic husbandry and pure organic cotton for the mattress covers and quilting.  These materials are naturally able to absorb, hold and trap moisture. In this respect they are far superior to synthetic materials such as polyester or polyamide.  Another benefit of natural materials, e.g., wool, is that they have a very low propensity to become electro-statically charged.

The natural latex used for the inner core of our mattresses has a distinct open pore structure. This means it possesses small, vertical air ducts which ensure excellent air exchange from inside the mattress. Heat and moisture accumulation is thus avoided and an optimal micro-climate created. This not only feels more comfortable but also prevents the development of mould inside or on the mattress. The result is relaxed and healthy sleep.
